You cannot export your log files directly from the Ambit 2 to Strava or any other GPS site for that matter. First you have to export the file as a ‘move’ into movescount.com and then you can export it as a .gpx file for Strava (and many others) or a .kml file for Google Earth or Maps. You can see a Google map of your file in movescount but if you use one of the social GPS sites then you will want it in there too. It is very easy to do and the 2 minute video below shows you just how.
NB: If you watch the video in full screen and it’s too fuzzy, click on the cog wheel, bottom right of screen, and change quality to 1080p HD. Takes a few seconds to process but then gets rid of most of the fuzziness.
Had my Ambit from Facewest for over a year. I use it as a data collection tool, and a speedo if I think I’m doing well!
Movescount is great, very colourful. But it hasn’t had the uptake. As said above, super easy to download the GPS file from Movescount and upload it to Strava, for my cycling. This can be done retrospectively so go back as far as you like. I record my skiing, hiking, whatever I’m doing, too, this stays on Movescount. I find a watch more user freindly for all these activities than having to carry a cycle computer around. Although, the computer would be marginally better on the bike.
