We have broadened our range of snowshoes by adding French snowshoe brand TSL.
From TSL we have chosen the Escape Easy snowshoes which are aimed more at the recreational snowshoer rather than the wilderness adventurer. The Escape Easy are fine on all but the steepest terrain. There are 2 sizes, the 305 for weights up to 80kg and the 325 for 50 – 120kg.
Composite (plastic and metal) snowshoes are popular in Europe as they are lighter and have a lower cost than metal/fabric shoes. However in North America, due to the lower temperatures encountered, then metal/fabric shoes tend to be more popular. Worth bearing in mind if you are heading out to Canada for your trip.
