“I’ve been abusing my Gamma MX hoody for two years. It’s a great bit of kit for skiing and alpine climbing. Thanks to those clever people at Arc’teryx the hood is a work of art. It fits over a helmet or can be tightened so it’s snug over a wooly hat. There’s a great peak which works well even when the hood is tightened around your face. The collar can be zipped up to cover your chin but stops at just the right spot so you can breathe unhindered. Even when you’re totally sealed into the hood it still turns with your head and doesn’t effect your vision. The Fortius 2.0 fabric keeps out the wind, sheds snow and is wonderfully stretchy. Combine this great fabric with clever design throughout the jacket and you end up with wonderful freedom of movement. I particularly like being able to reach for high holds without pulling the jacket out of my harness. After lots of use my Gamma MX hoody still looks great.”
