I’m about to head off on my summer hols, but it seems winter is already here in the Facewest warehouse. The first of our winter stock, Arc’teryx, is now here and available to purchase now! Not everything is quite here yet, but lots of items are and the rest is expected soon and available to pre-order now.
Here’s some highlights of the collection…
The long-awaited new arrival of the Arc’teryx range is their down jackets, the Cerium range. Arc’teryx years ago said that they wouldn’t produce down insulation unless they could do something innovative with it, and that they have. Their new range, available in both men’s and women’s, features high quality down insulation coupled with Coreloft synthetic insulation in crucial areas such as the hood and cuffs to prevent the down wetting out when the bad weather hits. This also serves to stop down migrating and ending up with thin patches as the Coreloft is a solid layer that won’t break apart. A great solution for those who want the benefits of both down and synthetic jackets or can’t decide between them!
The Khamski 38 Pack is a new specialist ski touring pack designed for hut-to-hut touring or long days in the mountains. The pack is pretty much waterproof (featuring seam-taped seams, but water resistant zippers and a regular drawcord top closure under the lid), meaning you can be confident your kit will stay dry when the snow begins to fall – or when you fall in the snow! With easy ski storage and a dedicated avalanche safety equipment pocket the Khamski 38 is the perfect pack for your touring adventures this winter – plus it’s a brilliant colour! For shorter tours, check out it’s baby brother, the Quintic 28.
Arc’teryx’s Whiteline collection is designed for the steepest ski and snowboard descents in the deepest powder. Including the Sidewinder Jacket and Sabre Jacket and Pants for men, and the Sentinel Jacket and Pants for women, these Gore-Tex garments will keep you dry and comfortable whether you’re riding the lifts in Val d’Isere or dropping out of the heli in the Rockies. Best of all, there’s some super bright colours out there to make sure you look like a pro in the pics!
If you’re heading somewhere a bit chilly this winter, then the insulated range of ski wear could well be what you’re after. The Macai Jacket, above, is a fully featured Gore-Tex shell with a down insulated inner – combining, of course, Arc’teryx’s Down Composite Mapping with Coreloft, as used in the Cerium down jackets. Sure to keep you warm on the coldest January days. There are also synthetic insulated Gore-Tex jackets, including the Fission SV for both men and women, and the Fission SL.
Start dreaming of those ski days now!
