Our Marmot Spring drop has now arrived and is available for purchase. We’ve stripped down the range a bit this year and come up with a awesome selection of lightweight softshells and windshirts, some great light camping and bivi gear and a selection of superlight shells (do you see a theme emerging?).
Our best sellers from Marmot year-in-year-out are windshirts. They’re just fantastic bits of gear for everything from trekking to alpism, cycling to paragliding. This year Marmot have updated their ludicrously popular Driclime Windshirt by using a lighter, more breathable face fabric and adding a hood. This makes it an even more versatile garment and it’s called the Ether Driclime. If a windshirt isn’t yet part of your default kit list then get one of these and be converted.
Over the past few years Marmot have been our best selling tent brand and last year we started stocking the, frankly brilliant, Grid 2P. This has been a really popular choice and so we’ve decided to stock it’s big brother the Grid Plus as well. This is still a two man tent but features a huge vestibule with geodesic poles which is ideal for winter camping and longer trips where you’ll want to keep gear out of your way. It also makes cooking a much less cramped experience.
The Essence Jacket is really bloody light. In fact, we think it’s the lightest full membrane jacket ever made. That means that the only jackets you can get which are lighter than the essence are clammy and not breathable. Obviously this comes at a slight compromise in terms of toughness so this is not a day-to-day walking or a climbing jacket instead it’s a jacket for the committed runner or adventure racer or for the generally weight obsessed.
There’s loads of other stuff in the range including Gilets, lightweight softshells and baselayers so check it out…
